Not a trial, not three holes, not a number with a watermark over it. Distances to the green and to every hazard ahead of you are free, permanently. There is no usage counter, no PRO badge scattered through the interface, and no upsell anywhere inside a round. The paid tier is mentioned once, in Settings, and nowhere else.
The course lives on the watch. Leave the phone in the cart, in your bag, or at home — the numbers do not change. Starting a round from your wrist is not a paid feature here, which is a strange sentence to have to write.
The whole course is downloaded before you tee off: every green, bunker, water hazard, dogleg and layup point. Not a cached last-known state that degrades when the bars disappear — the data is simply on the device. Half the courses worth playing have no reception anyway.
If a tee box was never surveyed, the app says so instead of quietly measuring from somewhere near it. A confident wrong number is worse than an admitted gap — that is a rule in the code, not a slogan. Every measured feature carries where it came from and how sure we are.
